Baker’s Article #111 Nicholas Scranton

I’m Happy to present to you our next article which is none other than Nicholas Scranton Himself! A fantastic cosplayer and an amazing person who takes creativity to another level. I met Nick around the same time as I met Tabares Peake, met them all at the same convention back in the day.  Nick is a well known cosplayer at the conventions as well, and the city scene too. He does a lot of community events and other activities for Cosplayers and Kids as well.  He even has a video of  him repelling off of a 3 story tower as Spiderman for an event. People were in awe!  For real, that was no joke, He actually did that. Nick is an avid motorcycle rider and has also incorporated Cosplay into his biking functions as well. In addition to all of this Nick also is a comic book collector, and statue collector and a whole bunch of other stuff too, He is  an avid follower of other sci fi avenues that we could mention. Nick takes cosplay to the bar scenes and the patrons love it.  He loves the big movies too, we all enjoy those.  Nick and Cory will have  the most intense conversation about the latest blockbuster movie. He’s also one of the members of TCC  ( The Cosplay Connection ) and he helps us also film our you tube parodies and comic book movies. He often brings well needed comedy relief while we are filming, making for some good laughs and excellent bloopers. Here is Nicks Bio as told by Him:

Well my journey started when I was 6 years old. My dad took me to see the 1989 Batman movie in theaters. I was enamored with superheroes after that. I would dress up like Batman with my friends or superman and pretend to fight crime. We would spend all night sometimes watching Keaton as batman, and Christopher reeves as superman. I later became diabetic at the age of 7 in 1990 and found out about comics and the ever-expanding universe of superman, batman, wonder woman, and everyone else in the Detective Comics realm. I was also reading Spiderman spawn X-men and Deadpool comics. I learned about comic con and was still reading and collecting comics. I didn’t go to my very first comic con till about 2010. I didn’t cosplay that one I just went to collect issues and see what they offered, it was very small at the time but was getting popular year after year.

I have been going to conventions since 2010 and still attend to this day sometimes in costume and sometimes out of costume. I soon opened up my own comic and gaming store in May of 2019, and I am in works for the past ten years with my own comic. Advise to give to others, just find a hobby and follow your passion. You will get a lot of people telling you its not a great hobby you won’t make money from it. I say if it is something you love and are passionate about the rest will follow. Besides motorcycles, comics and cosplay are two of my favorite hobbies and have created a lot of opportunities to open a store, help out with charities and to meet some of the most special people to me. My links are Versus Games in the Oviedo mall we have facebook and insta. My personal insta is  deadpoolversus    where you can find me either cosplaying or riding bikes.

ICC thanks your for your time and we wish you much success on your journey. We are proud to call you our friend.
