Article #13, Mike Armstrong Uber Talented

ICC Article #13, Mike Armstrong, a Super Talented creator! Let me tell You a little something about Mike. He can do it all.  Write, draw, color and publish comics. He was referred to me by Winston Jordan from Inkpot Comics a few years ago when I was looking for a colorist. It has been a solid connection ever since, Mike has colored a few books for myself and others. He seems to get better every book He works on too!  There is a great connection with Mike and the people He works with. I highly recommend Him for any coloring job You have!  He also Has His own Comic Book Line as well! Talk about multi tasking! If I ever get a chance to meet this guy in person, You better believe I’m gonna get some tips from Him!
Anyone who knows me knows I am a very fast Artist, but let me tell You MIKE can keep up with me! One week I actually saw Him color 4 full pages of sequential art I did in NO TIME and they looked superb! His coloring technique is brilliant! Vivid outstanding colors with amazing glow techniques, and He just continues to impress us all in the Indy Community! I hope He sticks around for a long time!  Here is a little about him in His own Bio:
Hey guys, my name is Michael Armstrong and I have been drawing comics and writing stories for as long as I can remember. My fascination with comics started as a young kid and has only progressed as an adult! As much as I love to draw and create characters, I had to put it all on the back burner for a long time as I worked my full-time job as lead butcher at a local grocery store to help support my wife as she finished nursing school and raise our 13-year-old daughter. We live just north of Memphis, TN. In the past few years I’ve been able to really focus more on comics and I’m happy to have accomplished what I have so far. I’ve developed from more than just an artist into a writer, inker, colorist, illustrator and huge supporter of independent comics.

I started collaborating with Winston Jordan and together we founded Inkpot Comix, our own comic publishing company, collaborating on the series “The Dragon Trio”. In 2017 we were honored to win a Spacie Award for “Best Independent Comic Book” for Dragon Trio. I’ve since released my own original book series, “The Rise of the Dragon” and “Dark World”. I have colored or lettered several books for Alex Fernandez and Terance Baker’s “Body Jumpers”, Fernandez’s “Dawn” and Baker’s “Consortium”. I’ve also done coloring work for Antarctic Press, and along with my late creative partner, James Mitchell, I was selected to appear in the Antarctic Press “Gold Digger- Swimsuit Edition”. I’m constantly working on new stories, new ideas and new characters while continuing to re-imagine my older ones. I love to be able to collaborate with so many other independent comic book writers and artists and my dream is to keep making books and enjoying the work of others!
